Benjamin Wallace is the bestselling author of the Duck & Cover Adventures and other books. He lives in Dallas, Texas where he complains about the heat. And he is the writer of my favorite  Post-Apocalyptic  Audiobook series The Duck & Cover Adventures,  In this excellent   Post-Apocalyptic parody, You meet Jerry and his dog Chewy, roaming what’s left of the world doing their best to help the helpless. In a wasteland is filled with danger, and full of bizarre characters just trying there best or worst  to survive these new wastelands It’s the end of the world as you’ve never known it,

I highly recommend this series of audiobooks, there are really witty fun Audio-books to listen to, with loads of nods to 80's movies, great storylines, fast-paced action, brilliant over the top fight scenes, the series just got better and better every book I listened to,honestly, I have listened to this series many times and  Duck & Cover Adventures still makes me laugh,so below is the interview hope you enjoy

Q1 What made you want to write a Post-Apocalyptic story?

I always enjoyed the genre. Mad Max. Warlords of the 21st Century. Mutants of 2031 AD. I always felt it deserved a good-natured parody like Get Smart or the Naked Gun. No one else seems to think that was worth doing so I knew it was on me. Then it kind of got away from me and now we’re 5 books in.

Q2 Why did you choose to make Jerrys character a librarian?

The Librarian name was really thanks to the readers. Jerry took shelter in a library’s bomb shelter at the onset. To give a normal guy an edge I figured lock him up with a lot of books and nothing but time on his hands. A few of the characters that knew of this past mocked him for it. The name stuck with the readers. They started calling him the Librarian in earnest and I just kind of ran with it. That did lead to some fun bits with the resistance in Revenge of the Apocalypse.

Q3 Will the Coyote or the 3 bears ever make a come back in future stories?

I wrote a collection of short stories called Tales of the Apocalypse Vol 1. I fully intend to do a second volume soon and anyone can pop up there. I’m already starting to miss Coy.

Q4 Who's is your favourite bad guy in the DUCK & COVER ADVENTURES?

Willie and Coy are my favorite antagonists. The third book was written to be a post-apocalyptic version of Cannonball Run 2 and Willie and Coy are the gangsters trying to catch the Sheik. And the gangsters are basically Wile E Coyote. And now you can see how simple my mind works. But they grew on me and Coy really surprised me at how he developed. But you know, it changes a man.

Q5 How to did you team up Phil Thron the narrator of DUCK & COVER ADVENTURES {exellellent choice by the way in my opinion}

Phil auditioned for another one of my audiobooks. I loved the audition and asked him to narrate Tortugas Rising. He gets where I think the jokes are and just reads everything right. Since then he’s done the Duck and Cover stories, my Dads vs Zombie and even my non-fiction book for new dads, Watch Your Junk. I hope he doesn’t get too famous for me anytime soon, I love his reads.

Q6 Will Jerry make new friends in the upcoming 5th book in the DUCK & COVER ADVENTURES and will Jerrys love life improve?

Crossroads of the Apocalypse picks up nearly a year after the events in the fourth book and Jerry has been busy making lots of new friends. He’s running passengers up and down the Mississippi so he’s literally meeting people by the boatload. As far as his love life, I think it can only go up. Chewy is going to get a couple of new friends to play with as well.

Q7 I'm a follower of your websites mailing list and see you like playing R.P.G games, would consider making or allowing DUCK & COVER ADVENTURES to made into a game of some sort?

I’m certainly open to it. I enjoyed tabletop RPGs growing up and have had a lot of fun playing with my kids as well. There was some interest in producing miniatures based on the books but I think I dropped the ball on that.

Q8 You're almost finished your 5th book about life in a The post-apocalyptic world, so you must be a little bit of an expert on the subject by now any tips on surviving in The post-apocalyptic world.

Step one is to call dibs on all the food in the pantry. Then, if you make it past the first week, I imagine starting a cult is really the way to go. But I really think it’s important to be the leader. They seem like they have all the fun.

Q9 What 3 things could you not live without in The post-apocalyptic world?

A V8, the dog and I’d want some music for a post-apocalyptic road trip.

Q10 You also have a new book out called Dads vs Zombies, could you tell us a little bit about the story and when will it be released?

Dads vs Zombies is actually an older title, but we’ve just released the audiobook this week. The story follows three typical suburban dads during the zombie uprising. They’ve been rivals for years and they’re forced to work together. The original idea was your typical sitcom dad dealing with the undead. I’ve often been told it’s the funniest book I’ve written and Phil did an amazing job with it.
